Hello and welcome to Portugal on a shoestring. We are Brian and Diane and in 2023 we bought a 130 year old abandoned property in central Portugal. Join us as we begin a new life, renovating our house and managing our land on a shoestring budget. Watch as we learn new skills, make mistakes and discover our new home. One thing that we found difficult in our preparations for moving to Portugal was finding our about costs and processes, so we would like to be as open as possible and will try to answer your questions as honestly and openly as possible. This week Our daughter Katie came to visit so we set her to work as soon as she landed! She and Diane make some inmprovements to the pool area, which we hope will reduce the garden maintenance aspect, and I finish the bathroom tiling and install the toilet.
