I have a quirk that probably comes straight from my introverted roots -- I really don't enjoy unannounced visitors. It's actually a family trait. My mother was like this. I'm like this. And now my adult daughter is too. If someone drops by without warning, I often won't open the door. Never for strangers. Rarely for people I know if I don't have the mental bandwidth-- maybe my house is a mess, maybe I'm a mess, maybe I already had plans...even if those plans were just a good book and some quiet. Same goes for FaceTime calls. If I'm not ready -- I'm not answering. (And yes, once a FaceTime call came when I was on the toilet). Nope, not happening. This is a lighthearted reflection on introversion boundaries, and protecting our peace -- especially as we get older and value our energy a little more carefully. Do you feel this way too? Just me? Do you have a solution -- or do you think there even needs to be one? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Music by Epidemic Sound: The Typewriter - Jerry Lacey
