Fullerton is a city located in northern Orange County, California, United States. Fullerton was founded in 1887. Fullerton's historic Downtown District hosts numerous restaurants and clubs ranging from fast-food favorites to five-star gourmet establishments. The Downtown, which has won several awards, also hosts a variety of unique stores, such as gift and antique shops, clothing stores and more. Historically it was a center of agriculture, notably groves of Valencia oranges and other citrus crops; petroleum extraction; transportation; and manufacturing. It is home to numerous higher educational institutions, particularly California State University, Fullerton and Fullerton College. Brea is a city in northern Orange County, California. It is located 33 miles (53 km) southeast of Los Angeles. The city began as a center of crude oil production, was later propelled by citrus production, and is now an important retail center because of the large Brea Mall and the recently redeveloped Brea Downtown. Brea is also known for its extensive public art program which began in 1975 and continues today with over 140 artworks in the collection placed and located throughout the city. Brea's public art program has been used as a model and inspiration for many public art programs across the United States.
