The theme this year - Our Village, explores the proverb "It takes a village". The conversation with our keynote panelists, Dr. Dana Bronte-Tinkew Powell, Faelyne Templer and Stefan Thomas is moderated by Dane Lawrence and includes a Q and A. The Panel discussion was part of the 19th Annual Durham Black History Month's celebration at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate, Ajax, Ontario presented by Cultural Expressions for Change. www.ce4c.ca DANE LAWRENCE / KEYNOTE MODERATOR Dane Lawrence is a visionary social entrepreneur, Founder and President of Drabpe.org, and the Founder and Chief Sales Officer of Sales Force1 Inc., where he has led strategic sales and marketing initiatives since 2006. His clients span Europe, Asia, the USA, and Canada. His career is defined by a commitment to driving business growth while fostering positive social and economic impact. DANA BRONTE-TINKEW POWELL / KEYNOTE PANELIST Dr. Dana Bronte-Tinkew Powell is a highly accomplished scientist, medical doctor and medical strategist with more than 16 years of experience spanning Hematology, Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Cell Biology. She brings a rare combination of deep scientific rigour and clinical insight, enabling her to drive meaningful impact across pharmaceutical, healthcare, and medical organizations. Currently serving as a Medical Strategist on a global scale, Dr. Powell leverages her extensive medical knowledge, strategic thinking, and scientific acumen to shape impactful healthcare initiatives that are both evidence-based and relevant to both healthcare practitioners and patients equally. To date, she has authored eight peer-reviewed articles in top-tier scientific journals, underscoring her scholarly excellence and standing within the scientific community. Dr. Powell’s career reflects a steadfast commitment to scientific excellence, strategic innovation, and community empowerment, bridging medicine, research, and advocacy across generations to create lasting impact. FAELYNE TEMPLER / KEYNOTE PANELIST Faelyne is an ICF and Board‑Certified coach with a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She specializes in equity‑informed, neuro‑inclusive leadership and career coaching. As principal of Path & Purpose Coaching, she applies deep expertise in ADHD and decades of professional development experience to help clients clarify strengths, align goals with values, and create meaningful growth. Her twenty years in senior leadership, human resources, and governance strengthen her executive coaching practice. Career highlights include leading a non-profit supporting job seekers facing barriers and advising on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. STEFAN THOMAS / KEYNOTE PANELIST Stefan Thomas is an international keynote speaker, children’s book author, and youth resilience strategist who helps individuals build the courage and confidence to persist through adversity and achieve waves of success in school, work, and life. After dropping out of business school in his first year, Stefan returned to university, earned a Master of Education in Higher Education, and became one of the first Black male Academic Advisors at Canada’s #1-ranked university. He has supported over 10,000 students across North America, is the author of Keep Riding the Wave, and the voice behind the TEDx talk “3 Questions to Turn Your Dream Career into Reality.” Cultural Expressions for Change would like to thank and congratulate our planning committee and all those behind the scenes who have helped to bring us to today.
