You need to be willing to take feedback and have the patience to keep practicing. You can’t fix your Nice Guy Syndrome overnight. It’s not something that you can research or talk your way out of. Nice Guy behavior doesn’t go away just because you’ve identified it. Changing your behavior requires you to reflect on past choices and then attempt to do something different when those situations come up again. It’s going to require multiple iterations in order to make new habits. You will have multiple opportunities to make a different choice, act on that decision, and handle your emotional experience.
