As many of you know, Jade Nectar gave away for FREE - 1,000 packs of our FREE the V! – THCV rich cannabis seeds last Spring (2022). There were 20 seeds per pack, so 20,000 THCV rich seeds were given away for FREE! We hope you all have enjoyed growing them, but we have recently learned of a confusing issue for lab testing that ya’ll need to be aware of if you are pheno hunting your FREE the V plants for THCV rich phenos. YOU MUST WORK WITH A LAB THAT TESTS FOR ‘THCVa’ – the raw/acidic/unheated form of THCV! Unfortunately, many cannabis labs only test for the heated/decarbed version ‘THCV’, and this will results in virtually ZERO THCV in your lab results. This is because the raw unheated cannabis flowers only contain raw/acidic THCVa – so THCVa is what you need to test for, not THCV! I’ve received a few messages from people who claimed none of their FREE the V plants contained any THCV – but this is because the lab they used for testing did NOT include a test for THCVa. To test for decarb THCV, you would need to heat your flowers first to decarboxylate/convert the THCVa into THCV – get it? I don’t know which labs test for THCVa – but I do know SC LABS does, but you need to confirm that they will include THCVa in your lab results before dropping off your samples. Hope that helps – and I am including an image of some of my lab results for THCVa form SC LABS, and you will see this pheno had 7.159% THCVa and 9.974% THCa. FYI – we tested 40 of our FREE the V phenos last spring, and the lowest THCVa percentage was 4.5%, and the highest was over 8%.... with most phenos testing around 5%-6%. So they are definitely THCV rich, but you need to make sure to test your raw flowers for THCVa! peace
