Two Kiwis, Two Bikes, One Continent — Part 1: Beginners on the Rhine We set out from the Netherlands with the goal of cycling all the way to Turkey and back — fully human powered, on two wheels. Neither of us had bike toured before, so this first stretch along the Rhine River was training for the rest of the journey that was to come. In this video we ride from the Netherlands through Germany and into Switzerland on the EuroVelo 15 bike route. Along the way we wrestle bikes onto trains, push through long days on tired legs, and discover our wet weather gear wasn’t up to the job. When the weather had other plans, we faced the choice of whether to keep pushing or reroute at the very end. This part of the journey was all about tackling the learning curve.
