The CEC Palace in Bucharest is a historical monument and an impressive example of architecture, located in the center of the capital, on Calea Victoriei. Built between 1906 and 1909, the palace was the headquarters of the Savings and Depository Bank (CEC), one of the oldest banking institutions in Romania. The building was designed by architect Paul Gottereau, and its architectural style is a mix of neoclassicism and eclecticism, with influences from French Renaissance architecture. Its facade is decorated with stone and wrought iron elements, while the interior is equally sumptuous, with stained glass windows, columns, and richly ornamented ceilings. The most remarkable element of the building is its glass and metal dome, one of the largest in Europe at the time, which dominates the entire building and gives it an imposing air. Also on the ground floor of the palace is a large central hall, which is used for various events, and the imposing facade is adorned with statues and reliefs depicting scenes from Greek mythology. The CEC Palace is not only an important place in Romania's financial history, but also an architectural reference point for the city of Bucharest. Today, the building still houses the headquarters of CEC Bank and is a symbol of the capital's tradition and grandeur.
