This is my instrumental cover of French ballad singer Christian Delagrange's 1973 hit single 'Petite Fille', taken from his 1972 debut album and featured on the B-side of the less successful A-side 'Ne t'en va pas, ne t'en va pas', a schmaltzy, un-catchy ballad that was given less radio play than its flip side and was regrettably all too typical of Delagrange's repertoire. 'Petite Fille' was composed by Patricia Carli and lyrics were by Franck Gérald. The lyrics are typical of early 1970s French 'variété' and haven't exactly aged well; depending on how you interpret the title, they might even be bordering on creepy but I have loved this song ever since it first came out anyway, and I still have my original 7" single! My version of the song was sequenced, recorded and mixed in PreSonus' Studio One 7 Professional DAW using the following instruments: Sequential Prophet-5: the two synths Roland Jupiter-X: horn section, left channel strings Takamine EG340SC acoustic guitar, Fender Stratocaster electric guitar and Jim Dunlop Cry Baby wah pedal, gear4music Precision-style bass guitar, Korg Kronos: everything else (drums, tympani, piano, strings, brass and organ). Arturia FX Collection and PreSonus stock effects were used.
