Most of the tube radios that I restore have a single shortwave band, and no bandspread at all. This means that you cannot really do much fine tuning. Trying to pick up amateur band transmissions is very difficult due to the cramped band, and therefore not practical. So what happens if we try to add a bandspread function to it? And then, what if we try adding an external BFO to decode the SSB communications? Will it work? See for yourself. Have fun.
