The crew abandoned the aircraft as it entered restricted Canadian airspace, but five crew members, including weapon armer Ted Shrier, were never found. The crash led to the world's first "Broken Arrow" incident, where a nuclear bomb was lost, and subsequent investigations and missions to the crash site were shrouded in secrecy.
