Violent clashes in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal resulted in the death of four people. The police have registered a case against Sambhal MP Zia-ur-Rehman and local MLA's son Sohail Iqbal for allegedly instigating the violence. The violence erupted during a court-ordered survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid, sparked by a dispute claiming that a Harihar temple once existed at the site. Tension started when a large group of people gathered near the mosque and resorted to violence.
