The Cleveland Division of Police has arrested three juveniles who are believed to be connected to a recent string of car break-ins and a shooting incident. According to a release from police, following multiple reports of broken-into vehicles, investigators launched a coordinated effort to identify the suspects involved. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage, collected evidence and interviewed victims and witnesses. During the investigation, two vehicles were identified as being involved in the break-ins. On Oct. 26, at around 10 p.m., investigators were alerted to a felonious assault shooting in the 400 block of East 115th Street. The vehicle used in the shooting matched the description of one of the cars linked to the previous break-ins. Officers from the Fifth District, with support from the Cleveland police helicopter unit, located the suspect vehicle as it fled the scene. Three juveniles, all 16 years old, ran on foot, with one carrying a rifle. The Cleveland Police NICE Unit, assisted by the helicopter unit, apprehended all three suspects without incident. Police recovered an illegally modified AR 5.56 rifle with a shortened barrel. No injuries were reported from the shooting, though one vehicle was damaged. The suspect vehicle was later confirmed stolen from Cleveland Heights, and a second vehicle believed to be connected to the car break-ins was recovered in the 9900 block of Shale Avenue for processing. The three juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and charges will be handled through the juvenile court system. READ MORE: https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/loc...
