About 2 years planing, construction and collecting parts. The center frame was originally a Specialized RockHopper. A full DIY construction including welding and building. Many changes on the way, the first idea was to use a scooter tire including brake, then I found the used Omnium front wheel. A brilliant change. Front wheel 20" and 29"x2.35" at the rear. A massive tire but the g-one is still fast. The e-drive was as well a hunt, it was originally installed on a Prohete Aldi bike. I got it cheap all-inclusive, wheel, controller & battery. It is a road legal 250W Bafang hub drive supporting up to 25 km/h. Well I can go easily faster without the drive. The trapezoidal steering was planned like that from the beginning. The first idea was to use boat steering cables, second idea was a hydraulic steering, but I changed finally to strong stainless steel brake cables. The front suspension was a later change and adding it to the center was just the easiest compromise. Get a matching tire pair for 28" and 20" wasn't easy. Then I found the 29" g-one and figured out that there is the same one available at 20" . BUT now I had the issue to go for 29" . It was needed to expand the frame behind the bottom bracket to get it into the 26" frame. Well, it was needed to weld the whole rear frame new. To get matching fenders was as well an impossible task, till I found the Cube 29" fender set. It was needed to bend the front one using some heat. Riding it is extremely comfortable with the front suspension, the suspension seat post and the massive rear tire. I can block the front suspension to add more weight to the cargo bay. The steering is a bit nervous on slow speed but great on speed. Finished weight: 33 kg, nearly the same like a Bullitt using similar parts, but the cargo bay is bigger. Next task: Building a kids seat and a canopy! And get rid of the scooter tire and other unnecessary part's. 😆
