He started memorising the Qur’ān at a very early age in his home town of Manchester, and began reciting the Holy Qur’ān to admiring audiences in public since the tender age of 10. He completed the memorisation of the Qur’ān and thus became a Hafiz in Cairo, Egypt. Whilst in Egypt he was authorised via oral permission in recitation and sought advice from various reciters.
