Fly with us into beautiful Santa Monica Municipal Airport onto Runway 21. This airport does have transient parking and an FBO. This airport also has a landing fee and a unique departure you can request. Stick around til the end to see incredible tail cam views of Santa Monica Airport and LAX from above! LANDING FEE Santa Monica Municipal Airport does charge a landing fee. The fee is $2.56/ 1000 lbs of gross weight. Plane Pass through Vector Airport Systems processes the fee and handles payment, so you’ll receive a bill within a month of your visit. CURFEW No takeoff or engine starts are allowed between 11pm-7am Monday – Friday and until 8am on weekends – this is MANDATORY. The airport also asks that you don’t arrive 11am-7pm M-F and until 8am on weekends – this is VOLUNTARY. TRANSIENT PARKING You’ll find 11 transient parking spots here. Transient parking is located in front of the terminal building on the south side of the airport. Parking spot are spread across three separate areas. Look for the yellow parking T’s. Spots facing north are odd numbered and spots facing south are even numbered. Overnight Parking fees are $9.41/night for single engine and &18.82/night for twin engine. Parking fees are aid at the front desk of the admin building. Over the phone payment is available for off hours/weekends. FBO Atlantic Aviation is the FBO on site. If transient parking is full – and often times does fill up – your only other option is Atlantic. We have not visited this Atlantic location but an inquiry on their website showed the following fees for our Piper Arrow. $40 Facility Fee $10 Security Fee $20 Parking Fee (daily fee) 11 gallons of fuel needed to waive Facility Fee FUEL You can get full service fuel through Atlantic Aviation. Self-Serve unleaded UL94 can be found at the west end of the airport by Proteus Flight School near approach for RWY 03. RESTROOMS Restrooms are located inside the Administration Building and inside the FBO. The Administration Building has a small Pilot’s Lounge with seating, restrooms and vending machines. CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL Atlantic Aviation has crew cars available for a 2 hour limit. The crew cars are on a first come basis and this is a busy airport. Atlantic Aviation can coordinate a car rental for your visit if needed. Otherwise rideshare is your best option for getting around the Santa Monica area. Things are relatively close but the traffic can be tough to navigate. FOOD There isn’t a café on the field. You’ll find The Cloverfield a short walk from the airport and down the street from the Museum of Flying. The Cloverfield is highly rated and serves up great food like pizza, burgers and tacos. For more food options grab the crew car from Atlantic Aviation or an uber and make your way into Santa Monica for tons of delicious options. The Museum of Flying is south of the airport and great museum showcasing the history of Santa Monica airport and McDonnell Douglas.
