Joshua Tree National Park is located where the Mojave and the Colorado Desert ecosystems meet in southeastern California. There are 78 bird species known to breed in the desert conditions of Joshua Tree and many more make their way to the park as temporary residents. Year-round, winter, spring and summer species along with migratory birds traveling along the Pacific Flyway make up the over 250 bird species that have been sighted in the park by birders.
