Demonstrating a Raspberry Pi Zero small board computer equipped with an HQ Raspberry camera module using the C lens mount on a monocular microscope that performs as a USB webcam thanks to the ShowMeWebCam system running on the Raspberry Pi Zero. This setup is created for a high school science educator for creating course material and for distance learning needs. It functions on a C lens mount equipped monocular microscope as shown in this video and also on a C lens mount equipped stereo (dissecting) microscope. This webcam setup is partly due to observing the difficulties with and the poor results of using microscope smartphone ocular lens attachments. The embedded linux webcam system 'showmewebcam' can be found here: https://github.com/showmewebcam/showm... Shown in this video is the showmewebcam version 1.7 that requires the root login. Root login is automatic in version 1.8, so some aspect of this video no longer applies. A shell script "picamctl.sh" that automates running the camera control utility can be found here: https://github.com/akseidel/ScriptsFo... The showmewebcam system is further automated by the above mentioned shell script "picamctl.sh" which was developed subsequent to this video creation and therefore not demonstrated in this video. The script works for Apple OS X systems , Raspbian Linux systems and Linux Ubuntu systems. More information about "picamclt.sh" is at the ScriptsForShowMeWeCam mentioned above.
