#GRAHAM100 – On the occasion of the Martha Graham Dance Company’s return to France to celebrate its 100th anniversary (with performances in Roubaix, Lyon, and Paris), we’re diving into the #archives of past tours. After the Paris tours of 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟬 and 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟰, which received a rather mixed reception from critics and audiences, it was not until the third tour in 1976 that the Company achieved resounding success. That year, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗺 performed in 𝗟𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 and 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀, before settling in 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 for nearly two weeks at the 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮̂𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀-𝗘́𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗲́𝗲𝘀 as part of the Festival d’Automne (October 19–31, 1976). 📺 TF1 Actualités Dernière (Ina Archives) – 27.10.1976: excerpts from Night Journey.
