Step by step pan flute lessons - LESSON 5 - Tilting / Bending / Chromatics

Welcome to learn how to play the chromatic notes with pan flute. In modern western music we use 12 intervals (semitones) in an octave (all the black and white keys in one octave on the piano). A major or minor scale has 7 different tones, the eight is the same note that we started from. Those two same notes form an octave. So, when playing all the tubes in a row, pan flute has a certain scale. Usually, that scale is G major, some people prefer C major. To play all the other notes than the ones that are in the scale, we must tilt/bend our pan flute to get tones that are a semitone lower than the original note. Enjoy, learn & comment!
