Metro Trains at State Library

State Library station is one of five new stations in Melbourne's new Metro Tunnel, which runs under the CBD linking the Sunbury line in the north west to the Pakenham/Cranbourne line in the south east, bypassing the City Loop tunnel. The station has its main entrance on Swanston Street near the State Library of Victoria and Melbourne Central station, to which there is a direct underground link. This is the deepest of Melbourne's underground stations with its platforms 36 metres below ground, running under the City Loop tunnel.
