This is a short video of clips of the March 7, 1971 National Hockey League game between the St. Louis Blues and the Bruins at the Garden, won by Boston, 4-1. The clips are from a compilation of Bruins-related material from Channel 5 in Boston, WHDH-TV at the time. They're silent, but there are so few highlights from this record-breaking season I figure it's better than nothing. With the score 1-1 midway through the second period and the Bruins shorthanded, No. 4, Bobby Orr corrals the puck in his own end, busts out through center ice, and drills one past Blues goalie Ernie Wakely. Sublime! A Ken Hodge tip-in early in the third puts Boston ahead, 3-1, and Phil Esposito accounts for the final score of 4-1 by seeming to clang both posts behind Wakely. Box score in comments. I just posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
