The Melody Ranch Special was steamed up on a cool and windy spring day for some light running before the 2017 operating season started (Speaking of which, sorry for the wind noise - recorded this on a phone and I didn't have a great way to muffle the noise). This 16" gauge 4-6-2 Pacific was built in 1956 for country western singer Gene Autry for use on his personal line, hence the naming of the engine. The video shows some clips of the engine running around the new campground extension on the line. Optimistically, the campground will be completed and open for business sometime during the summer, where trains will run out to the campground and collect passengers to bring to Little Amerricka. Melody Ranch Special Specifications: Built: 1956 by George Reddington Type: 4-6-2 Pacific Weight: 4.5 tons Boiler Pressure: 150 psi Driver Diameter: 16" Fuel: Atomized Diesel
