Bought a new wood burning or multifuel stove ? This is likely to happen sometime during your first two or three burns. Don’t panic .. smoking from the surface of the stove (may even look like it is creeping up from under the lid or round pipe) is totally normal. This is simply the paint baking on to the surface. Sometimes you see it, sometimes you don’t. It may well set off smoke alarms etc Ventilate well and let it happen. Takes an hour or so after it gets to this point and you hen just goes away. I’ve put the lights out in the adjoining room to show this better. Note - some paints will smell really bad but not show fumes / smoking. Others will smoke like this and not smell….
