The new flagship hardware showroom for Momo Handles on Oxford Street in Paddington is an intimate, welcoming space imbued with a distinct residential feeling. Interior design by Lane & Grove allows customers to come in, take their time and immerse themselves in the Momo product range. The design of the store seamlessly blends into the luxurious, inner-city locale where it resides, which was central to the brief. “When a customer comes and feels the quality and weight of our product, they're more inclined to use it in their home, so we decided to create a space to showcase our product,” says Marc Bennett, marketing director at Momo Handles. “We wanted it to feel residential and give the feeling of being at home … we also used quite neutral tones throughout to showcase our product’s beautiful finishes,” says Bennett. Deb Quigley, director at Lane & Grove adds; “The brief was to create a number of different spaces – we needed to provide a work area for the staff, an interactive space for clients to hold and touch, and a semi-private meeting area.” The hardware showroom is therefore designed to be a tactile and interactive space. “We also encouraged people to bring in samples from their build so we can match our handles with the overall style of their home,” notes Bennett. Similarly, the showroom is also the first time Momo Handles has been able to display its new collection of architectural door hardware. Walking through the hardware showroom, the quaint space is intelligently designed to make the most of the compact floorplan. “As you walk through the front door, an island bench leads you through the space and back around. On the left-hand wall are all our designer ranges and a collection of contemporary handles, while on the opposite wall is our Momo premium collection,” explains Bennett. The zone is broken up into five unique finishes; matte black, bronze, dark brushed brass, brushed satin brass and dull brushed nickel. At the rear of the space, a mood board collection features samples from other suppliers. In terms of the palette, Lane & Grove is selective, focusing on warm materials to soften the heavy nature of the hardware. “The warmth of the carpet and the beautiful Olive Grove green on the walls, paired with travertine render and stucco, is in direct contrast with the cold nature of the hardware,” says Quigley. “The space is not only beautiful, but it’s also very functional,” she adds. Lighting is also used thoughtfully throughout the hardware showroom. “We added some copper spotlights over the island and then each range on the walls is backlit … while a pendant over the dining area links back to us making it a comfy home environment,” says Margot Lane, director at Lane & Grove. The very first hardware showroom for Momo Handles, the space represents an exciting step for the brand. “We see the Momo handles showroom as an integral part of the Paddington community … we respect our customers and their time, so when they leave here, they are not only informed but like they found something they want to use in their project,” reflects Bennett. 00:00 - Introduction To The Architectural Hardware Showroom 01:58 - Design And Layout 03:00 - Collaborating With Lane & Grove 05:10 - The Customer Experience For more from The Local Project: Instagram – / thelocalproject Website – https://thelocalproject.com.au/ LinkedIn – / the-local-project-publication Print Publication – https://thelocalproject.com.au/public...
