Can you sand and finish an oak floor in 1 day?

How long does it take to sand a floor? Well the answer to that question can vary dramatically, especially between professional refinishers and DIY refinishers. You also have to take many other things into account. What wood is it, what type of flooring, how many rooms and so on. Flat oak flooring is the cream of the crop, you can get that sanded much quicker than say parquet flooring or pine floorboards. In this video, we attempt to sand and refinish 400sf (35m2) in 1 day. This is not something that the average person, attempting to sand and refinish their own floors is going to be able to do. However, it may be possible with floors up to 160sf, again, depending on what type of wood and flooring it is. Even 160sf of oak is going to be a stretch for one person.
