Panama City Beach by RV | Biking, Beaches & Wild Spring Break!

This week, we’re giving you a glimpse of some of the fun things we got up to in Panama City Beach, Florida. We happened to be here during Spring Break, which meant we saw some pretty interesting things. Our day started with a bike ride from the Panama City Beach KOA to Pier Park, a scenic and easy 11km ride that took us about 30 minutes. Having bikes with us was a game changer—no need to deal with parking, and we got some great exercise while exploring. Panama City Beach is also very bike-friendly, with dedicated bike lanes on some of the main roads. Our first stop was Pier Park, which turned out to be a large outdoor shopping mall with plenty of stores, restaurants, and even a few fair-style rides. Just across from Pier Park is the actual Pier, where you can walk for $4 or fish for $7. Next, we made our way to Pineapple Willies, a beachfront bar and restaurant that came highly recommended by friends. We arrived right in the middle of Spring Break madness, which made for an unforgettable experience. The beach in front of Pineapple Willies was packed with hundreds of spring breakers, and despite an alcohol ban on the beach, the energy was electric. We even witnessed some pretty rowdy spring break traditions, including what appeared to be a football team ritual. As the sun set, the police presence started increasing, preparing for what was sure to be a wild night. That was our cue to make our way to one last stop—a local bar on our bike ride home, where we met even more great people. Last year, our visit to Panama City Beach left us unimpressed, but this time, we had a completely different experience. It just goes to show that travel is all about the memories you make.
