Finally the first video of the 2025-26 season! Sunrise was installed in 1980 by CTEC with some Thiokol equipment. It serves mostly its own area but prior to 2015, was the only way to get to Summit which you’d take to get to Honeycomb Canyon. In 2015, when the old Summit Double was removed, the new lift started in a new alignment that made way for a new trail from the top of Apex Express, Summit Access West, for faster access respectively. Sunrise doesn’t get much crowded since it’s a long slow lift, and terrain tends to get less skied off than neighboring Apex in this regard. It also operates in the summers for scenic lift rides as well. Like Town at Park City, Sunrise had its own safety bars in the summer, not the winter until Alterra, which owns Solitude, fabricated new ones in 2022. This lift is a bit of a workhorse and I know Solitude is calling for replacement in the next few years so we’ll see what happens!
