Parents often come to the clinic with a concern – “My child speaks, but doesn’t communicate.” In this video, Dr. Aakanksha Singh explains how to start building communication from the very basics when the child has little to no comprehension of words. Whenever we have to teach body part recognition, we can use these 3 simple daily activities: 1️⃣ Name the body part while applying cream/lotion – For example: “Now cream on cheeks, now tummy, now hands.” Here, we are not teaching vocabulary directly, but giving repeated inputs that slowly build comprehension. Over time, the child will understand that when cream is applied here, it means “tummy,” when it’s here, it means “cheeks,” and so on. 2️⃣ Name the child’s body parts during bath time – While applying soap, say: “Now soap on the nose, now on cheeks, now on ears, now on hands.” Repetition creates meaning and helps the child associate words with their body parts. 3️⃣ Mirror activity – Sit at the child’s eye level in front of a mirror. Apply some color on your hands or face and show the child: “This is on mummy’s eyes, this is on your eyes.” This makes the child realize body parts are not only on them, but also on others. ✨ These daily practices generate comprehension—the ability of the child’s brain to understand what you’re saying. Over time, repeated exposure leads to better recognition and lays the foundation for early communication. ✅ Parents whose children are in the initial stages of speech development should definitely add these activities to their home-based therapy. 📞 For support or appointments, call: +91 6280605988 📺 Watch the full video and start practicing these activities at home. #AutismAwareness #SpeechTherapy #AutismParenting #ChildDevelopment #BodyPartsRecognition #DrAakankshaSingh #ParentingTips #AutismSupport #AutismIndia #SpecialNeedsParenting #AutismTherapy #CommunicationSkills #EarlyIntervention #ParentingJourney #AutismAcceptance #CrayonsClinics #crayonschandigarh #crayonsmohali
