I have replaced the video audio with the audio from the Hard Rain live album CD (re-mastered version) from this same concert. As with the Idiot Wind and Shelter from the Storm videos that I did this with, I had to slow the audio down by a fraction to get it to line up across the whole song.. a bit tricky trying to align the speeds and sync the sound and video across the whole song. I have heard the speed of Blood on the Tracks was slightly changed from actual recorded speed, it looks like that is the case with the Hard Rain live album. On this one the the audio seemed more noticeably higher quality on the CD compared with the original audio with the video (from VHS tape). I notice Bob points to his microphone slightly and glances behind a couple of times. The original sound with the video on this one seemed more distorted than on the Shelter from the Storm and Idiot Wind videos. The footage is from the Hard Rain TV Special, which as far as I know has only surfaced from recordings on VHS tapes from the time of broadcast.. this Japanese version is the one with the superior picture quality, but it does have the subtitles across the screen. Initially I suspected maybe it was more likely the video was slightly slow, due to it being a VHS recording, but something about how Bob's voice sounds on the Hard Rain CD, the Japanese and US vhs recordings being the same speed, and the way Blood on the Tracks is slightly sped up, I decided to slow the audio, rather than speed up the video, to get them to align. I've also edited the footage slightly. The show is from Fort Collins, Colorado. Hughes Stadium. 23rd May, 1976. That was actually the encore. The TV broadcast coincided with the release of the Hard Rain live album, which was released on the 13the September 1976. It has 9 tracks, some from this show and some from a show on the 16th May. That's the album I took the audio from to line up with the old VHS recording (from a re-mastered version of the CD from a few years ago). moth ..
