For a first on this channel, we'll take a look at a another metro system, with today's focus being the Silver Line of San Diego's MTS System. I'll upload videos featuring the other lines so I won't get too much into them, but the Silver Line is unique as it's not only a single-direction loop, but also uses older equipment from the city. The visits I've made to the line this year primarily use Siemens-Duewag U2 #1001, the first car of the modern system. However the line also has a couple classic 1940s PCC streetcars that sometimes appear. With the line only operating on select holidays and often suffering from technical issues that cancel departures, these trolleys are a rare sight, but one that is certainly fun to see around downtown. The official schedule is hourly between 9-5, but its common to see the trolley get put away in the yard early, so its best to come early!
