This is a side by side comparison of the Sig Sauer P226 9mm breakdown and a Sig Sauer P227 .45 breakdown. The Sig 226 uses a red spring, color side facing the hammer, the Sig 227 uses a firmer green spring with the painted side facing the hammer as well. I didn't see a lot of stuff on the 227 since it's brand new as of last year so I thought I'd put this out there for any curious folks. My 226 is a full stainless so it's actually about double the weight of the 227 .45. Both of these are outstanding sidearms for a hike in the woods. I got the .227 since I love the .45 and this one supports up to 15 rounds in the double stack magazine. Surprisingly these both feel like almost identical handguns in the grips, a very solid design. I tried the Glock 45 with their double stack but it is far too wide to keep a solid grip on it even with my big hands.
