Summary: Endoscopic negative pressure therapy (ENPT) with openpore film or open-pore poylurethan sponge drainage was used in nine patients with iatrogenic esophageal perforation (IEP). Although this was effective, additional video-assisted thoracic surgery was required in four patients. Therefore, ENPT, with or without minimally invasive surgery, can be considered for sepsis control in IEP.
