A drive through Newquay

Newquay is an attractive resort on the north Cornwall coast with sandy beaches and strong waves from the Atlantic Ocean which make it the surf capital of the UK. About 25,000 people live here. I have a friend, now 96, who met her future husband there in the 1940's. This was filmed on Friday May 24th 2024 at 11.30. The drive starts in Tower Road, at the roundabout it briefly goes into North Quay Hill and then takes the next turning off the roundabout into Beacon Road. This becomes Dale Road and when we reach the clifftop, King Edward Crescent. We pass Huer's Hut on the left, the white clifftop lookout dating from the 14th century (apparently for spotting pilchards). At the end of the Crescent we turn left back into Beacon Road and the roundabout. The drive recommences where Hope Terrace turns off Tower Road. That then become Trevena Terrace passing Sainsburys. At the end of that we turn left into Fore Street which eventually brings us back to roundabout again. The east side of the town is not covered in the video unfortunately. Just 8 trains a day set off from Newquay station (2 for London).
