BIG BEAR LAKE - February 12, 2013 - Police radio audio recording of the shootout between ex-LAPD police officer Christopher Dorner and officers after he tied two maids up, stole their car, then carjacked a white pickup truck. After being spotted by law enforcement he crashed the white pickup truck and was holed up in a cabin. A MASSIVE firefight ensued between officers and Dorner, involving automatic weapon fire. Audio recording begins as soon as the stolen car BOLO (be on look out) went out. Shots fired are well over 27 minutes in to the recording. 14:36 - VEHICLES CLEAR, THERE IS A SILENT SNIPER RIFLE IN THE BACK SEAT! 15:55 - HE JACKED A WHITE DODGE PICKUP TRUCK 4 WHEEL DRIVE, GOING DOWNBOUND GLASS ROAD 18:09 - INFORMATION, PER THE RP, THE TRUCK THAT HE IS DRIVING IS ALMOST OUT OF GAS 22:17 - 4PAUL5, FISH AND GAME WAS SHOT AT AND THEY RETURNED FIRE, SUBJECT CONTINUED ON. We have the Nissan, vehicle is clear, with a silenced sniper rifle in the back seat. We have located the hostages, they are safe, it appears he still has a silenced pistol with him. He jacked a white Dodge PU truck on Glass Rd. We need River Rd blocked. Transcriber Note: When this call came in it was from a woman in Moonridge who said that Dorner, the suspect in an ongoing Blue Alert, had tied her up and taken 2 of her housekeeper and her maroon Nissan SUV. At this time the authorities are working of the supposition that the suspect they are pursuing is indeed Dorner. Can we close down 38 at Bryant? 2008 Wht. Dodge pu truck, 4 door. Shot at Fish and Game units, who shot back, he's continuing on foot. Heading South Fork 1N45 entrance. I think he's heading that way. 38 is closed at Lake Williams, 330 is being monitored. SBSO has a 12 man swat team set up at 38 and Bryant. There are a lot of civilians down there, due to road work. 330 is now closed in both directions. Start a Big Bear ambulance and have them stage at 38 and Heart Bar. Approx 200 children have been dropped off, 4 bus loads of kids at the Heart Bar camp ground. CalTrans has been asked for hard closure of all mountain highways 101-32B - per the Victim, the guy is all camo'd out with a vest and lots of ammo and carrying a big rifle; in green and brown; he doesn't believe he was wearing a hat or anything. 330 is closed at Live Oak Snow tracks on 7 Pines at Glass Rd. Fresh tracks. Stage at 330 and 1N09. Head down Greenspot Road, into the Orange Groves; he can get out that way on 1N09. Last on Glass Road. They think he's on 1N09 heading towards the 330. Just talked to SO. He may still be in the white Dodge truck. 1N45 towards South Fork? That's a possibility. Get the unnecessary traffic of 8 Mountain 1. 8 Mountain 1 priority traffic only. Talk around on 8Tac 2 Incident commander to 8Tac2 to assign the units. Keep 8 Mountain 1 clear for 4 Paul 5 and the units on Glass Road. We need one F&G unit to come down to where the silver van is in the roadway. There are no units. That's the point. I need somebody to watch that van. Glass Road to Seven Oaks Dam towards 1N09 1274 Club View (MA and ME291 to respond to - staging for SO) We have tracks in both directions. He could be headed down bound or back up to Big Bear.
