🌿 This varied circular walk is set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, around the much-loved market town of Grassington. It brings together dramatic waterfalls, peaceful riverside paths, the attractive village of Hebden, and open moorland near Yarnbury, making it a great introduction to this beautiful area. 📏 The full route is around nine miles long and takes roughly four hours to complete, with a total ascent of about 303 metres. On the walk page, you’ll find clear step-by-step directions, full route statistics, and useful planning tools, including GPX downloads, elevation profiles, interactive maps, and a 3D fly-over. 🏘️ Grassington itself makes an ideal starting point. This historic market town is full of character, with cobbled streets, traditional stone buildings, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a brilliant base for walking in Wharfedale. 💧 Along the way, there are plenty of memorable highlights. Linton Falls is an early feature, with its tumbling water and footbridge, while further on, Hebden Suspension Bridge and the nearby stepping stones provide a peaceful place to pause. Near Yarnbury, open moorland views open out, and elsewhere the route passes through quiet valleys and areas shaped by lead mining. 🚶♂️ If you enjoy walks that combine scenery, history, and a real sense of journey, this Grassington route is well worth exploring.
