DISCLAIMER : This is not a flashy edit or a tale of glory. It’s a reflection of what my memory truly feels like. The long hours of waiting, The endless steps through the snow, The calm of the mountain, & the strange peace found in exhaustion. Climbing the Mont-Blanc in 5 days as a complete beginner. Day 1 : Hike to Refuge Albert 1er (+1300 elevation gain) from Chamonix, around 2 hours walking from the lift at La Balme. In the afternoon, we learned the basics of alpinism: walking with crampons, handling an ice axe, first steps on the glacier, climbing techniques on rocks and snow. Night at the refuge. Dinner, sunset, sleeping in the high mountains for the first time. Day 2 : 5am, climbing Aiguille du Génépi (3,200m). A mix of snow, rocks sections, our first real summit. After the climb, we returned to the refuge for lunch, then hiked back down to Chamonix in the afternoon. We started this adventure as a group of 4.During training on day 2, one of us got injured so we continued the journey as 3. Day 3 : We took the Bellevue cable car to 1,794m.From there : Train to Mont Lachat (~2,100m) Chemin des Rognes (1,370m elevation gain) Around 2h50 to reach Refuge de Tête Rousse (3,167m) Afternoon and Night at Tête Rousse. Guide briefing, safety checks, weather, summit plan. Day 4 : 4:15AM, we left Tête Rousse. The Grand Couloir was already active, rockfall blocked most teams from even starting. Only 2 of us, and one guide, made it through. The second team had to stay behind. We climbed and reached Refuge du Goûter (3,835m).Short rest, then summit push at 7:45 AM. The forecast showed storms around midday so we had to move fast : Dôme du Goûter (4,304m) Vallot shelter (4,362m) Arête des Bosses Summit of Mont-Blanc : 4,806m As we reached the summit, thunder started rumbling on one side.We descended as fast as possible back to Refuge du Goûter. Night at the refuge. Day 5 : Next morning, descent to Tête Rousse, then all the way to Bellevue on foot because there was no train from Nid d’Aigle. 2,000m of downhill to finish the trip. Physically tough, but above all, a mental challenge. Our guide pushed us hard to prepare for the worst. With temperatures rising year after year, the Couloir du Goûter is becoming more dangerous. It was my first real experience in alpinism. Before this, I had only done small hikes , nothing technical, nothing at altitude. And I loved the connection with the mountain, the constant reminder of how small we are out there. A true lesson in humility, facing nature. 2 days of preparation for Mont-Blanc is very short in my opinion. We started as 4. Only 2 of us reached the summit. 🎨 : Davinci Resolve (Powergrade : https://amryraw.gumroad.com/l/CineRaw...) 📷 : @SonyAlphaUniverse A7cii + 24mm f/2.8 & 40mm f/2.5 Musicbed : Enjoy 14 day of free trial with this link https://fm.pxf.io/c/6062342/1347628/1... #cinematicvideography #streetphotography #sonyalpha #sonyalphafrance #a7cii #cinematic #colorgrading #davinciresolve #cinematography #a24 #montblanc #alpinism
