It is my pleasure to share a complete guide on how to build a low budget planted tank for tropical fish. Video has been recorded over 8 months. Tissue culture plants have grown, trimmed and grown again. Tropical fish has been added and they kept on multiplying through breeding in the planted forest. I hope this video could be an inspiration to those who wish to build a low tech, low budget planted tank as it is all about the journey and not the outcome. For this planted aquarium, I have used 3 bags of AquaEarth aquarium soil and 3 bags of gravel as plant substrate. Driftwood and Seiryu rock has added to the beauty of the aquascaping. A small variety of foreground, midground and background plants have been selected and they are all low budget and low maintenance plants in the long term. Aquarium Plants: Bacopa Monnieri or Moneywort, Rotala Rotundifolia, Staurogyne Repens, Alternanthera Reineckii, Glossostigma Elatinoides, Java Fern and Water Wisteria Tropical Fish: Platy, Molly, Endler Guppy, Assorted Guppy, Cardinal Tetra, Clown Loach, Rasbora, White Cloud Minnow, Swordtail etc., If you want to build a low budget planted tank then I would suggest adding low maintenance plants that doesn't have high requirements. Plants would provide filtration, oxygenation and shelter to fry. However, the importance of an efficient aquarium filter can never be neglected. I have used a canister filter to keep the water clean, a sponge has been attached to the end of the intake so it is shrimps and fry safe. By having heaps of plants, you can keep the fry in the same tank as their parents. Hope you would enjoy this video. Thank you #PlantedAquarium #PlantedTank
