Hiking the White Mountains | Mt Carrigain | Winter-Like Conditions! | NH 4k

Decided to hike Mt Carrigain this weekend! Hit Sawyer River Rd at about 8:30am and luckily the road was in fact still open (a few inches of snow along the rd but still drive-able) While getting ready we ran into many people arriving at the same time. Probably saw a good 20 people throughout the day. It was cloudy and snowy the entire day. Noticeably colder and windier as we approached the higher elevations (duh) and painfully cold once along the ridge. Unfortunately not much in the way of views but overall was a great time being out and about on the mountains in the snow. I will try to end back up there soon enough on a clear day as I have heard legend of the views! Not an overly strenuous hike. After the first say 1.7 miles it does start going up and kind of doesn't stop until you hit the ridge. It is a very gradual long ascent. Had microspikes on the entire time. Did not die from wearing shorts. I had much more clothing to choose from in my bag as needed.
