Welcome to another Kingston Kayak Club River Guide. This guide covers the River Washburn near Harrogate in North Yorkshire. We've only focused on the main rapids, if you can cope with these then you'll manage the sections in between. This is a dam release river and as such is only open on certain days. When possible the organisers do provide a shuttle service and simple ask for a donation towards fuel costs. They also usually provide excellent catering facilities, but both of these will be advertised in advance via the Facebook Page. Disclaimer : White water paddling is a hazardous sport, please ensure you get appropriate training before taking on the river. The grades specified are indicative and will vary in different conditions. Rivers change so we'd always advise inspection before shooting any rapid.
