Im testing out my Le-Clerc Fanny Counterbalance loom. I need to get hands on this loom to learn the quirks of how it works. I like it. Smooth and accurate. It is old but that is fine. It is not a super wide loom. The thread was spun as a super thin single but this thread is still fuzzy. Much fuzzier than I'd have expected to see after stringing up the loom. I doubled the warp and weft in a 15 dent reed. It is a narrow piece and not very long at all. I started with plain/tabby weave then started the twill. I will do twill for much of the rest until nearly done where I will go back to plan/tabby weave for the finish. I will likely ply my thread from here on out because of the fuzz. Not sure why it becomes so fuzzy after I load it up on the loom. On the bobbing it looks super nice and not so fuzzy. All my plied thread is super nice and not fuzzy even on the loom. Still rather thin even after plying. I'll do another piece with plied super thin thread. Just testing and deciding how I want to proceed. Even with the fuzziness of the thread the loom is still working quite well. So we shall see which way I like best.
