How To Reset The Jeep Wrangler Check Engine Light (Quick Breakdown!). In this video tutorial I will show you how to reset the Jeep Wrangler check engine light. Here’s how to do it: Using an OBD-II scanner • Start by looking for the OBD2 port in your Jeep Wrangler, which might be situated beneath the dashboard, beneath the steering wheel, or by the driver’s seat. • Once done, slide your OBD-II scanner into the port. • Then, turn the ignition to the on position without starting the engine. • This action will power your OBD-II scanner and enable it to communicate with the computer system of your Jeep Wrangler. • After that, choose the Read Codes option on the scanner’s menu. • Next, the scanner will show any existing error codes. The error codes are a mix of letters, numbers, and additional details. • Note all the error codes and then look up their meanings in your scanner’s manual. Also, feel free to look for more information regarding the error codes online. • Afterward, use your scanner to eliminate the error codes by choosing the Erase codes or Clear Codes option. • Take out the scanner and turn the ignition off. Disconnect the battery. • Power down your Jeep Wrangler. • Once done, lift the hood and locate the battery. • After that, use the wrench to detach the bolt that secures the negative terminal. The negative terminal features a minus symbol. • Ensure that the wrench does not come into contact with the positive terminal or any metal parts while disconnecting the battery. • Next, detach the negative cable from your car’s battery. • After approximately fifteen minutes, attach the connector back to the battery. Ensure the bolt is firmly fastened. • Then, shut your Jeep Wrangler’s hood. • Switch on your Jeep vehicle and confirm if the reset procedure was successful.
