Behind every milestone is a story — Heather’s began in the woods. She was deep in addiction and living in an abandoned campsite when she overdosed under a tarp. Her partner searched the area and found a box of Narcan in a nearby empty tent left behind by someone they would never meet. That moment saved her life. It was the moment she knew she could not keep living this way and was ready to start her recovery journey. Across Vermont, people in recovery are rebuilding their lives one step, one day, and one home at a time. We know that long-term recovery does not happen in isolation. It happens in community. It happens in safe, supportive homes designed specifically for recovery. This year, thanks to support from our donors, VFOR reached key milestones. We opened a new recovery home for women in Essex Junction, created two transitional apartments to support members preparing for independent living, and laid the groundwork to open a home in Addison County, where no certified recovery residence currently exists. Your support fuels our growth — not just in the number of recovery homes we open, but in the lives rebuilt, families reunited, and communities strengthened. With your help, we can keep expanding the reach and impact of recovery across Vermont. Donate today: https://vfor.org/donate-now/
