Modernized SÛR Ômicron traction elevator (Car 2 of this pair) at one of the wings of the City Convention & Events Hall, in downtown. Unlike the ones I filmed previously here, on the theater wing, the pair in this wing serves 2 more stops (M and 2), are overhead and instead of bottom-drive traction, and one of them has not received it's second mod yet. The ones on this bank don't talk and say aloud the time either. Other car in this bank: • SÛR Ômicron (mod. Módulo) Traction Elevato... The other pair I filmed before: • Talking Clock: Big SÛR (m. Alttec) Tractio... There's one more pair on the North wing that I haven't got to yet, but it's not worth the already high risk as they're exactly like this one. The entire complex has 7 elevators in total, all identical SÛR Omicrons from 1994, which all got a partial and premature mod by now defunct local company Módulo Elevator around 2012. Módulo was later bought out by AMG, itself bought by Orona shortly after. Few years ago, local company Alttec got the contract and has been modding again some of the cars one by one, mainly replacing controllers and some smaller details. This pair is located in the central wing, and this car has received the second mod, mainly controller replacement, keeping the first mod's fixtures. Cab is quite big, as needed, since these are also used for freight. Interior is still original, looks up to date, all steel walls, and a mesh panel ceiling. Lighting is better on this one, bulbs are brighter. No noisy fan inside too, feels good to have a quieter cab and allows for the motor sound to be heard. Fixtures are the same as the other car, reusing the ones from the first mod by Módulo since they were already in good condition. Surface-mount totem COPs on the inside, very simple, ELX 400 buttons. I wonder if the attendant buttons were wired in this new controller. This one does not have the voice and it's spoken clock and greeting system. They only changed the indicator from the original placement over the door to having it in the COP (that spot originally had a clock/temp LCD display that stopped working ages ago). Alttec also added their logo with a laser print, interestingly, so there's now branding from two distinct companies on the same COP. You can still see the old original Módulo logo up there, mostly covered by the sticker above the indicator. Call stations were replaced for new ones though, still similar to the original, but include an indicator and feature Alttec's branding. In overall great condition for the age and use, still looks clean and well-kept. Slightly worn in some points at worst. Good care taken with these, one would expect worse for the setting they're in. Performance is good, though not as great as the one besides it since there are a few small issues with this one. Mainly a lot of shaft and cab noises as it moves and the doors. Lots of creaking on this one (like the other modded ones in the other wing). Doors also make some noises when they finish opening completely. In operation, efficiency is decent, it takes a little while to level at each floor, not long; starts up immediately. Travel speed is really good, fast acceleration and slowdown. Doesn't show any glitches or issues during travel, really good! Motor sounds quite epic, has that roar to it, like most high-capactiy/freight machines, and added now, a loud VF drive sound along with it. Echoes all through the shaft - awesome! Maintenance seems to be good, quite reliable, even with the different usage pattern that these elevators get. This company has been here for a while now, not sure how it was before them. Specifications: Manufacturer: SÛR (mod. Módulo, Alttec; local companies) Maintainer: Alttec (local company) Model: Ômicron (originally) Fixtures: "Griffe Lumen" (Fujitec) capacitive buttons, ST-99 Plus indicator, repl. Elevcom w/ ELX 400 buttons Type: Passenger Commercial Hoisting: Overhead Traction Doors: Center-opening Capacity: 900 kg/12 persons (apx. 2000 lbs.) In Service: 1994, part. mod. ~2012 Floors Served: 6 (-2 - -1 - 0* - M - 1 - 2) Controller: SÛR Ômicron ST-5100 (repl. Infolev Genius VVVF) Motor System: SÛR EM-71 geared AC machine Rating: 8/10 - Liked it, even if the mod took most of it's character away. At least this one has a nice motor sound. Mod it got was basic, replaced some really interesting fixtures for generic ones, now they slightly updated them a 2nd time and gave it a new controller, the latter isn't much of an improvement over the original IMO here. Great condition for their application, age and usage, very well kept and mantained. Performance and operation wise, it's great too, very smooth, fast, efficient, and quiet, no issues at all here. Obvioulsy would prefer if it was still 100% original, was a rare and unique Sûr install in the area. Filmed: November 16, 2024 Camera: Samsung Galaxy A54 © 2024 L. Naves #elevador #elevator #lift #sur
