This elegant travel humidor was released exclusively for sale in Duty Free locations all over the globe. It's a bit bulky and particularly large to be carried around, but that hasn't stopped Habanos from releasing it and naming it a Travel Humidor. Cuba’s own José Gener registered the Hoyo de Monterrey brand in 1865 and the cigar has been a major player in Cuban cigars for well over a century. The brand is named after the Basin of Monterrey, which refers to a fertile plantation bought by tobacco grower José Gener in 1860 that's located on a river’s edge in the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. Known for it's more mild taste, this cigar is known the world over as a superior smoke. When aficionados prefer a lighter smoke, this is their best bet. There is a non-Cuban brand with the same name.
