"You are about to embark upon the great crusade toward which we have striven these many months, the eyes of the world are upon you... I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle." - General Dwight D Eisenhower. On this day 77 years ago, more than 156,000 American, British, and Canadian Troops stormed Normandy Beach in northern France. The Normandy Invasion, also known as Operation Overlord or D-Day during WWII, is known as one of the largest war operations in history. By the end of August 1944, all of northern France was liberated. The heroism, courage, and bravery displayed by the troops from the Allied countries on D-Day has served as an inspiration for many films & tv series, and has also been featured in many video games. Examples include Saving Private Ryan (1998), the HBO series Band of Brothers (2001), Medal Of Honor Allied Assault (2002), and Call Of Duty WWII (2017). I hope you enjoy this inspiring music and ambient mix in honor of all the troops who fought on this day in 1944. For the best experience listen with headphones.
