Marmotte grandfondo Alpes 2025. As every year a very warm edition 🌞🌡. Climbing Col du Glandon, Col du Télégraph, Col du Galibier and finishing on l'Alpe d'Huez on top. It was my fourth Marmotte in a row. Three of which with the heroic finish. In 2023 I had a dnf caused by a horrible accident in the slight decent at the Glandon, km 23, caused by another rider. Result: a cardia arrest, 7 broken bones and bone cracks. Although I was out for 18 minutes, I had no brain damage. This year I had to do my preparation indoor cycling. One of the broken bones from the 2023 accident had the be repaired by surgery (so in 2024 I did the Marmotte with a broken shoulder). That couldn't be done by a shoulder specialist on April 11. No earlier then June 10 I was allowed to start cycling outdoors and put pressure on my shoulder. My son Jelmer joined me in the first Kilometers. He finished in 8h 11m. My finish time was 9h 38m.
