Not every walk’s a picture postcard! Come along with us on a walk of two halves — from Cogan Station in Penarth to Barry along the Wales Coast Path. The first stretch through Penarth is everything you want from a coastal walk — clifftop views, the pier, beautiful houses, and a stop at The Big Fresh Café for a hot chocolate. We even brewed our own coffee on the beach at Sully. Then the path heads inland towards Barry, skirting around the docks — and let’s be honest, it’s not the prettiest bit! It gets quite industrial and road-heavy, but that’s part of the reality of the Coast Path: not every section is picture-perfect, and that’s what makes the full journey interesting.
