Hello my friends and welcome to my greatest creation. Today we are taking things to the next level with the video synth and taking the first steps to MIDI-synchronized analog video art performances. My very precious @lzxindustries Double Vision has *evolved* into a new life form with a cool new screen setup alongside a brand new @squarpinstruments Hermod+ modular brain to sequence both CV and MIDI around the video rig. Today's setup starts with the @Polyend Synth for some ambient generative synth tones which is then sent through the audio effects of the @KorgOfficial Kaoss Pad Entrancer. The Hermod+ hosts the Synth and converts the USB MIDI info into CV tracks that are sent to different modules around the Double Vision system, the @NeonCaptain Radiator, and then DIN MIDI to the Entrancer for a completely synced audio/visual hybrid synthesizer. On the video side of things the LZX Double Vision is the main pattern generator and processor with an HDTV/camcorder setup for video feedback. The signal from the Double Vision is being sent out to the Entrancer for video effects and then routed to the LVS-400 video mixer. Meanwhile, the Radiator is projecting lasers onto a screen which is being recorded by my old Canon XL-1 camcorder and then keyed in over our original pattern on the LVS (I really like the film grain-like effect the LVS creates when keying!). *THEN* its being all sent to a usb capture card to be recorded live as I create. 0:00 - Preview 0:07 - Explaining the setup 0:50 - Getting started building a patch 1:06 - Making waves with LZX DWO3 Dual Osc 1:11 - Polyend Synth MIDI 1:34 - First movements 1:51 - Adding in shapes 2:44 - 2 MIDI tracks moving 3:03 - Adding in some colour 3:20 - Internal feedback from LZX Stairs 3:32 - Creating movement with LZX Scrolls 4:15 - Discovering 4:34 - Polyend Synth vibes 5:01 - Introducing camera feedback 5:18 - More Polyend Synth sequences 5:41 - Effects from the Korg Kaoss Pad Entrancer 6:13 - Controlling the Korg Entrancer with MIDI LFO 6:53 - Different effects from the Korg Entrancer 7:22 - Discovering 7:54 - Adding in lasers from the Neon Captain Radiator laser synth 8:55 - Thoughts on MIDI-synchronized video synthesis. 9:48 - Jamming out on the video synth Gear used: LZX Double Vision Squarp Hermod+ Korg Kaoss Pad Entrancer KPE-1 Neon Captain Radiator Edirol LVS-400 Wicked Lasers Lasercube Polyend Synth If you are interested in more video art check out my main output on ig: / tuna_vision or follow up on my music here: / mr_tuna_music
