From the album Another Valley On The Long Decline (Historia 1990) Speed Niggs press-info: The indie-rock-post-punk-trio Speed Niggs started blowing the world of Rock’n’Roll away back in 1989 consisting of Mark Kowarsch, Jan Beigel and Christopher Uhe. The band’s debut album 'Boston Beigel Yeah!!' (recorded on Teac 8-track 1/2" analogue tape) had to be repressed several times in the first weeks after its release which was also due to the outstanding frontcover-artwork by US comic-artist Joe Sacco. 'Boston Beigel Yeah!!' was 'Album of the Month' in german SPEX magazine whose readers later voted the band 'Best Newcomer 1989' in an end of year poll. In autumn 1989 Speed Niggs invited to support SST Records artist Das Damen from New York City on tour all over europe. Their second album 'Another Valley On The Long Decline' (recorded on Fostex 16-track 2 inch analogue tape) features the track 'Paint It Sweet' with Evan Dando (The Lemonheads) on vocals, a track which Dando referred as 'one of the best tracks I’ve ever worked on‘. Following the release of their third album '667 – Right Between The Dicks' and a bunch of tracks on vinyl, CD and cassette worldwide, the band split in 1993. During their five years together Speed Niggs played over 350 shows with era-defining bands including Soundgarden, Dead Moon, Nova Mob, The Lemonheads, L7, Yo La Tengo, The Clean, Urban Dance Squad, The Fuzztones, The Obsessed, Giant Sand, Maureen Tucker, Doo Rag, Das Damen, Television Personalities, Half Japanese, Bullet LaVolta, The New Christs, The Chills, Sylvia Juncosa, Kolossale Jugend, Loveslug, Naked Lunch, Ostzonensuppenwürfelmachenkrebs, My Dad Is Dead, The Lazy Cowgirls, Miracle Workers and Soul Asylum. 1994 Mark Kowarsch and Christopher Uhe founded the experimental lo-fi noise-rock outfit Sharon Stoned .
